Ikhlaq Sidhu is the Founding Director and Chief Scientist of UC Berkeley’s Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology. He teaches and advises projects in graduate, undergraduate, and professional programs. In 2009, he received the IEOR Emerging Area Professor Award. Prof. Sidhu also developed / founded the Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership and its T-Shaped Curriculum Model , the Engineering Leadership Professional Program, UC Berkeley’s Venture Lab, the A Richard Newton Distinguished Innovator Lecture Series, Berkeley-Tsinghua Global Technology Entrepreneurship program, and the Global Venture Lab Network with 25 prestigious international universities.
Within industry, Ikhlaq Sidhu serves as a venture advisor to Onset Ventures, a leading Silicon Valley investment firm. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Applied Innovation Institute, a non profit organization that advances innovation working with industry leaders with experts at academic institutions around the globe. He was awarded 3Com’s “Inventor of the Year” award in 1999, and has been granted over 60 US Patents in networking technology, IP telephony, and mobile computing functionality.
